The Guardians of the Galaxy team have no problem performing in various Marvel Studios films and projects. But, as per Director James Gunn, it isn’t often fun to watch the cast take on other roles in films.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Gunn spoke about the potential of passing over the Guardians when he becomes the co-CEO at DC Studios. In discussing the Guardians’ appearances in Avengers: Infinity War as well as Avengers: Endgame, Gunn noted that things took place that he would not have done when working with The Guardians of the Galaxy 3 full movie cast.
“They did some things that I wouldn’t have wanted,” stated Gunn Also, he mentioned that Star-Lord might kill Gamora when she had wanted to kill him be killed in Avengers: Infinity War and would not have punched Thanos into the face within the same movie which was a cult moment among fans whom blamed Star-Lord’s actions for Thanos the snap due to this scene.
In the same interview, cast members from members of the Guardians of the Galaxy cast have also discussed having a dialogue with filmmakers who aren’t familiar with the project. Pom Klementieff, who portrays Mantis in the movie series — revealed she “can’t imagine” playing the role with another person who wrote her script.
“I can’t imagine playing Mantis with someone else writing the words,” she said noting that she and actor Chris Pratt would call Gunn while working on Avengers films to check that their characters were appropriately handled. . “I was being given directions, and I was like, ‘I think I’m going to call James,’ ” Klementieff explained.
